My Neighbor Stopped Closing The Blinds

The setup

Brandi stretches on her deck every morning with the blinds open, and the neighbor next door has been watching, which she knows and, she admits, enjoys. Her husband, Doug, is on the night shift and sleeps through the morning, so the early hours belong to her. In episode 1 she catches the neighbor looking, does not hide and sends him off with an invitation: tomorrow he comes over, while Doug is still at work. Episode 2 turns the invitation into a stretching lesson on the floor, with Brandi calm and unhurried, and ends with a front door and a husband who got off early.

Why it earns its number

The best trick here is how little it needs: a deck, a window and a work schedule. The slow burn comes from watching turning mutual, and the clock of Doug's shift gives every scene a deadline. It is quiet, suburban and a little mischievous rather than loud.

Who should collect it: For anyone who likes a suburban slow burn, a ticking shift clock and a neighbor who knows exactly what she is doing.
