The setup
Ren is broke, in love with his roommate Yama and terrible at saying so. Their mornings are coffee, jokes and a lot of almost-confessions. Episode 1 ends when Mira, Yama's wildly confident best friend, turns up at the door with a suitcase and a grin. In episode 2, Ren loses his job, the rent math suddenly needs a third person, and Mira, fresh from being dumped and thrown out by her ex Dorian, moves in. Within ten minutes she has claimed the big closet and spotted Yama's secret. Then she proposes a game: both women go after him, and the one he chooses claims the prize. Neither intends to lose, and Ren is the last to know there is a contest.
Why it earns its number
Most roommate stories pick one love interest. This one gives Ren two, adds a rent crisis and turns friendship into a wager, so the tension comes from affection used as a weapon. It is light, quick and funny, with a shadowy ex waiting in the wings.
Who should collect it: For anyone who likes a romantic comedy about rent, rivalry and two women who play dirtier than they admit.
