The setup
Kyle's father marries Skye, who is twenty-two, and then leaves for the whole summer with a casual request to take care of her. Skye wastes no time laying down house rules for her new stepson: looking is allowed, touching is not. The house is quiet, the bathroom door doesn't quite close, and Kyle's restraint is already under test by the end of episode 1. In episode 2, Skye's best friend arrives asking for wine and a lot of questions, Skye introduces Kyle as her stepson, and the rulebook starts looking like a suggestion. A doorway left open becomes the whole conversation.
Why it earns its number
The setup is a clean idea (a brand-new stepmom, a summer-long absence, a rulebook) and the rules do the flirting. Because the best friend arrives in episode 2, the dynamic shifts from a duet to a trio early. It suits the Stepmom and Taboo shelves equally well.
Who should collect it: For anyone whose perfect summer involves a forbidden house, a rulebook and a houseguest who breaks it.
