The setup

Mark's son is about to be married, and the bride-to-be moves into the house for the final stretch. Mark's wife asks him to give the fiancée his honest opinion on everything from a rehearsal-dinner dress to place cards, and the fiancée takes the invitation seriously. In episode 1 she asks whether the dress is too short, mentions what Jason thinks of it, and lets Mark know she wants his verdict on the real dress at tomorrow's final fitting. Jason works late, and Mark, who recognizes the habit, doesn't comment. In episode 2 a florist crisis pulls his wife away, leaving Mark to help with a wardrobe emergency just ten days from the vows.
