YES MA'AM

The setup

The new recruit's first day of basic training goes wrong fast. A scuffle in the ranks brings Sergeant Diana Demont down on him: the commanding officer who terrifies everyone and, he admits, is undeniably attractive. She sends him running up a hill, then the Colonel appears, and the recruit spends the rest of the episode puzzling over whether she is the Colonel's sister or his spouse. Episode 2 delivers the punishment: a floor to scrub in her office, a shower running next door and a series of very bad decisions about where to look. Diana is a Candy character, not a real performer, and she keeps reappearing across the collection's other series.

Why it earns its number

Thirty-five episodes is a serious commitment, and this is the series that makes it feel worth it: a base full of rules, a married commander with a reputation for keeping her distance, and a slow game of who blinks first. Diana is also one of the collection's recurring faces.

Who should collect it: For viewers who love a uniform, a chain of command and a slow campaign to see who breaks the rules first.
