The setup
Ser Garrick has a sword, a reputation as the bastard no one will crown, and a few days before a throne is up for grabs. Seven lords need to bend the knee, and only two have. On the road, a witch from the Blackwood steps out of the dark and says she knows his name, knows his plan, and can deliver the rest for the price of his obedience at moonrise. Episode 1 ends with the hunt called off. Episode 2 brings the bargain: five lords, five nights, no soul required. If he refuses, he stays a knight forever, the queen regent's riders are in the wood, and his squire is sent the wrong way.
Why it earns its number
The throne-room twist is the transaction: a witch collects favors in installments, one night at a time, and the knight has to keep a straight face. It's political fantasy with the lights down low, and it moves briskly through the Fantasy worlds and Quick finish shelves.
