The setup
The new stepbrother arrives for what is supposed to be two quiet weeks at the house of his stepsister Brooklyn. Dad is away, the stepmother has already sketched how the visit will go, and Brooklyn has a friend who is every bit as curious as she is. Episode 1 is the arrival: introductions, a heat wave, a stepmother who muses on how people always believe a plan was their idea, and a house that starts to feel like a stage set with the audience in on it. Episode 2 takes him upstairs to Brooklyn's room on a vague excuse about reaching something high, and the mood changes fast. Keep it down, everybody.
Why it earns its number
Most stepsibling stories give you one temptation. This one stacks three: the stepsister, her stepmother and a friend, all with the visitor in their sights while the father is a phone call away. It's a house-party mood on a summer-break clock, and it sits on two shelves at once, Stepmom and Stepsister.
Who should collect it: For anyone who wants a heat-wave comedy of manners where the new guest never gets a quiet minute.
