My Wife's Stepsister Caught Me Staring

The setup

Billy is the wife's stepsister, and she's staying in the spare room until a job turns up. On her first night she catches her brother-in-law looking, and she says nothing to his wife. Episode 1 is the morning after: blue walls, a mirrored wardrobe, a stare she timed to the second and a breezy suggestion that next time he can simply walk in. Episode 2 is movie night on the couch, where his wife dozes on his shoulder and Billy, on his other side, stays wide awake. Whispers, a remark that his body disagrees with his words, and a hasty exit to the laundry room while the credits roll.

Why it earns its number

A short-fuse entry on the Cheating wives shelf: a houseguest story built on a game of chicken. She is only in the next room, she's counting, and she's the one making the dares. It's about the first look and how a single stare changes the whole house. Small cast, one ranch house, plenty of near misses.

Who should collect it: For anyone who loves a slow-burn houseguest story where a single glance sets off everything.
