The setup
Ava's fiancé, Brad, is too busy to show up for any of the wedding preparations, so she nominates her stepbrother Leo as his stand-in. The deal sounds simple: today he's Brad, and tonight he's the groom she needs to practice with. Episode 1 is a lesson in how little Brad has ever got right, starting with how he holds her and ending in a rehearsal of vows that turn out suspiciously thoughtful. Leo is called harmless, a verdict he's determined to disprove, and the officiant's line about kissing the bride arrives as a dare. Five episodes leave plenty of room for the wedding build-up.
Why it earns its number
Rehearsal as a loophole: everything is for practice, so nothing counts, and that excuse gets thinner with each scene. The Stepsister set has a lot of forbidden crushes, but few that start with a legitimate wedding task and a boyfriend who volunteers himself out.
Who should collect it: For anyone who likes a fake-it-till-it-isn't setup, with a rehearsal that keeps getting harder to call pretend.
