The setup

Tyler thought he was being generous: a pre-paid set of pilates classes with his mom, who helped his own back, as a present for his best friend Jake. Episode 1 shows the first class. No machines, she says, because she is the equipment, and the breathing exercises involve her hand and quite a lot of closeness. Tyler phones to ask how the sessions are going, and she answers on Jake's behalf. Tyler turns up early and finds the studio door locked. She books the next session for after closing time, with Tyler never far away, and asks whether Jake dares to continue.
