Newlywed Not Satisfied

The setup

Piper Hollis checks into a lavish villa for her honeymoon, newly married to James, whose phone rings louder than she does. Episode 1 teases a hushed late-night scene, then fills in how she got there: the welcome, the investor call that could take hours and Piper admitting she married James for the money, so why shouldn't she take what she wants? Alone in the sun, she asks the man who carried her luggage to help with the sunscreen. In episode 2 things move closer: he fears for his job, she tells him work can wait, and one polite invitation inside quickly follows.

Why it earns its number

The money-for-marriage opening makes Piper a refreshingly unapologetic lead: she says out loud what other newlywed stories only imply. The staff-versus-guest tension, with his job at risk the whole time, puts a clock on the Cheating wives and Taboo sets.

Who should collect it: For viewers who like an openly bored, openly bold lead and a temptation that mostly resolves in favor of trouble.
