Kiss My Enemy

The setup

Brooke is a wrestler whose career hangs on a single match. Her opponent steps through the ropes with a blunt message: she has been paid to finish Brooke off, so the best thing Brooke can do is fight back. Episode 1 is that match, played as a rough, tense dare. In episode 2 the pin has been counted, Brooke has won, and she wants to know why her rival let it happen and who paid for it. The answer comes from the promoter, who gives them a month to build toward a big card at the Colosseum, where the rival must win or both of them are finished. Hatred gets complicated in a ring.

Why it earns its number

Wrestling is a clever container for a rivalry that is half contempt and half something else, and this series knows it. Six episodes, one more than usual, give the feud room to turn. Few pieces in the collection build chemistry out of chokeholds and pride.

Who should collect it: For anyone who wants enemies-to-something-more with a sports drama setup and an arena for a stage.
