The setup
A promotion hangs on one week at the desert estate of her boss, Marcus Voss, and Dana takes her fiancé Jake along with one rule for him: be invisible. Jake can't manage it. Marcus's wife, Vanessa, is impossible not to notice, and Marcus notices him noticing. Episode 1 ends in a men-only talk and one very awkward question. Episode 2 explains that the question is a ritual, played on every retreat for ten years, with three rules, a guest house and a secret from Dana. Then Dana gets booked solid until four, and Vanessa shows up with a bottle of sunscreen.
Why it earns its number
Most Cheating wives stories hide the husband. This one puts him at the head of the table, writing the rules, which flips the usual tension: the permission is the scandal. Sunny, polished and a little dangerous the way a contract is.
Who should collect it: For anyone who likes a power game in a desert setting and a hero with no idea what he's signed up for.
