Date With My Stepmom

The setup

Nina's husband cancels their dinner for work, leaving a meal waiting, a very good dress and one other person in the house: his son, Evan. Evan, convinced nobody can hear him, mutters to a pal about how Nina looks tonight. She catches every word. Episode 1 ends with her sitting opposite him, asking if he got a good look and offering a better one. In episode 2 she makes clear she is not offended, only entertained, and gets to the real question: is the problem that his father might come home, or that she is his stepmom? Evan cannot decide.

Why it earns its number

Same ingredients as other stepmom stories, different recipe: Nina's motive is payback against her husband, so the flirting carries a sting. Evan is the unwitting instrument, and the cold-shoulder dinner turns into a power game she is determined to win.

Who should collect it: For viewers who like their stepmom stories with a motive, a grudge and a woman in control.
