Madison: My Dad's Best Friend's Daughter

The setup

Madison is a tennis player on a three-month exchange, and her father has arranged for her to stay with his best friend Ryan, the man who runs the circuit. Fresh off a breakup, she arrives to an attic room and a dinner table full of dad stories: a summer of construction work, the worst job either man ever had. Chemistry is instant, and so is the guilt. Episode 2 moves to practice. She asks Ryan to film her form, then to spot her at the gym, and between the camera, the barbell and an eyes-up reminder, nobody is concentrating on the exercise.

Why it earns its number

A sports story wearing a taboo coat: what's at stake is a best friend's trust, and every drill hands the two of them a pretext. The slow burn runs on a training schedule, a phone camera and an attic bedroom, while the host's good intentions wear thinner each session.

Who should collect it: For fans of slow-burn temptation, athletic settings and a host who knows better and keeps showing up anyway.
