I Drove My Girlfriend's Stepsister To College

The setup

Hanna cannot take her stepsister Kenzie back to college herself, so she asks her boyfriend to drive. Kenzie is happy to remind him that for six hours he is hers, and spends the trip teasing him to concentrate on the highway. A storm hits, Hanna tells him to stop somewhere safe and the only room left in town has one bed. Episode 2 is the motel night: he reminds Kenzie she is his girlfriend's stepsister, she says that is exactly the point, a borrowed T-shirt becomes a negotiation and a phone call from Hanna makes everything worse. Kenzie finishes the call with a confession she meant for him alone.

Why it earns its number

A road movie with one setting that matters: the motel. Close quarters, thunder and a phone call to the girlfriend keep the pressure high, and Kenzie is the tease who is bored by subtlety. Unlike the stay-at-home stepsister entries, everyone here is away from home and out of excuses.

Who should collect it: For anyone who likes a road trip with bad weather, one bed and a driver who should have said no.
