She Was Sent to Kill Me

The setup

In a lethal game, players race for a gate to win their freedom, and a hunter caught lending a hand pays with her own life. Eli is a player, a doctor, and the one everybody expects to go first. Delilah is the hunter with him in her sights. She's hurt, he notices, and he does what doctors do: he bargains, a few seconds of head start in exchange for wrapping her arm. Then the voice on the speakers orders her to shoot. Episode 2 raises the stakes: he made it to the exit and turned back for her, and the voice starts counting down.

Why it earns its number

No stepfamily, no boardroom: just a lethal game and two people who shouldn't be on the same side. What this one adds to the collection is stakes. It's a rare story where tenderness is a survival strategy and the ticking clock is real.

Who should collect it: For a night when you want danger instead of a doorbell, and a doctor with a stubborn conscience.
